About What's Watt

Whats Watt display

What's Watt was conceived, designed and built by Trevor Rumbold (WebComms4U Ltd - Co-Director) and commissioned in March 2007.

What's Watt is the third unique and novel energy saving lamp display available for hire from WebComms4U Ltd. The display can be configured for an awareness event in one of two different ways:

  • Configuration 1: The display can compare the light and heat output of an 11 Watt energy saving lamp with that of a 10 Watt ordinary lamp i.e two lamps of approximately the same wattage (input power). The brighter energy saving lamp clearly demonstrates its superior light output efficiency for similar heat output to the ordinary lamp and hence the energy saving lamp denonstrates its economic and environmental benefits.

  • Configuration 2: The display can compare the light and heat output of an 5 Watt energy saving lamp with that of a 25 Watt ordinary lamp i.e two lamps of equivalent light output Watts but differing input power. Whilst the light output from each lamp is comparable, the energy saving lamp runs at a much lower temperature and hence clearly demonstrates its superior efficiency, economic and environmental benefits.

Along with the Carbon Cycle and Illuminator, What's Watt completes a 'trio' of energy saving lamp displays.

The display is self powered by means of a rechargeable battery and hence does not cause a safety/trip hazard resulting from mains power cables. On a full charge What's Watt will easily last an event day. The footprint/height of this display is 0.5 m diameter x 1.5 m and requires a suggested minimum clearance to adjacent displays/objects of 1 m.

What's Watt is one of a growing number of environmental awareness displays available for hire form WebComms4U Ltd.
